CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATIONS AT SYDNEY COLLEGE OF ENGLISH CAMBRIDGE TEST CENTRE
Welcome to the Main suite of Cambridge Examinations administered by Cambridge ESOL.
There are more than 3 million candidates a year who sit for one of these exams in 2,700 centers in over 130 countries and is recognized by 12,000 institutions. SCE is proud to be one of those centers that can offer students the choice of either paper-based or computer-based tests.
Here is a list of the exams that are offered at our center (Both Paper and Computer Based Tests):
Cambridge English: KEY also known as the Key English Test (KET) and is an elementary qualification for basic, everyday written and spoken English. It tests the learner’s ability to understand simple questions and instructions in English, express simple opinions or needs in English, and complete forms and write short letters related to personal information. The test is set at Level A2 of the CEFR.
Cambridge English: Preliminary also known as Preliminary English Test (PET), is an intermediate qualification for learners who need to use English in a practical, everyday way to communicate. The test is set at Level B1 of the CEFR. This is the level of English required for practical, everyday use in work, study and travel settings.
Cambridge English: First also known as First Certificate in English (FCE), is an upper-intermediate level qualification for learners ready for success in the real world. The test is et at Level B2 of the CEFR. This level is suitable for pathway and foundation courses at University or for starting work in an English-speaking environment. It shows that the learner is becoming skilled in English.
Cambridge English: Advanced also known as Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) and is the qualification for high achievers who have ambitions for undergraduate or graduate-level study, or working at a professional or managerial level. The test gives an in-depth assessment of a learner’s ability and fluency at Level C1 of the CEFR. This is an unparalleled qualification to prove that a learner has mastered English.
Cambridge English: Proficiency also known as the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) and is the qualification that proves exceptional English ability. Successful candidates are ready for the challenges of the highest levels of academia and the professions. The test is at C2 level of CEFR and proves that a learner is able to use English at near-native levels in a wide range of situations.
